Die GUB ( www.gub-bw.de ) ist seit 2004 in Kindergärten der Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar aktiv. Sie führt naturwissenschaftliche Projekte durch, richtet Forscherräume ein und bildet Erzieherinnen fort.

Wir betreuen aktuell 20 naturwissenschaftliche Modellkindergärten in Weinheim. Weiterhin haben wir verschiedene Projekte rund um die Naturwissenschaften durchgeführt, darunter auch Forscherferien für Kinder von 6-10 Jahren, „Naturwissenschaft, Bewegung & Spiel“ in Kindergärten, Forschen mit Kindern im Krippenalter und Naturwissenschaftskurse für Grundschüler in der Kinderakademie Weinheim.

Die GUB ist Mitglied der Partnerorganisation Frühkindliche Bildung der Nationalen Plattform Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung. Wir haben die Nationale Auszeichnung „Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung“ der UNESCO Kommission erhalten.

Im Rahmen unserer Arbeit sind vier Fachbücher beim Cornelsen Verlag erschienen.

Unsere Gesellschaft kooperiert mit der Stadt Weinheim. Unsere Bildungsarbeit in Kindergärten wurde als offizielles Projekt der UN-Dekade „Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung“ ausgezeichnet. Das Urban Gardening Projekt hat 2024 die Nationale Auszeichnung Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung der Deutschen UNESCO Kommission erhalten.
