Das XLAB ist eines der größten Schülerlabore Deutschlands für die MINT-Fächer Physik, Chemie, Biologie und Informatik. Als vielfach ausgezeichneter außerschulischer Lernort bieten wir nicht nur Schülergruppen im Rahmen ihres Unterrichts spannende „Hands-on“-Experimentalkurse, sondern auch umfangreiche Angebote für einzelne Schüler*innen, die mehr wissen wollen, und Fortbildungen für Lehrkräfte zu aktuellen Wissenschaftsthemen. Dabei fühlen wir uns den Zielen einer nachhaltigen Entwicklung verpflichtet.

Schule trifft Forschung

Naturwissenschaft bedeutet vor allem Neugier. Sie treibt Wissenschaftler*innen an allen Orten und Zeiten an, vom Bekannten ins Unbekannte vorzustoßen. Unsere Kurse wecken diese Neugier auch in den Teilnehmer*innen und zeigen, dass Naturwissenschaft durch Experimente so gar nicht trocken sein muss, sondern richtig Spaß machen kann. Wie heute in den Naturwissenschaften gearbeitet wird und Erkenntnisse entstehen, erleben Schüler*innen bei der planvollen Durchführung von Experimenten, die funktionieren, in Laboren mit forschungsnaher Ausstattung und unter fachkundiger Betreuung. Lehrkräfte bilden sich fachlich weiter und erhalten Einblick in die Forschungstätigkeit eines Instituts des Göttingen Campus.

Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung

Unser Ziel ist es, im Sinne einer Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung (BNE) die Schüler*innen zu zukunftsfähigem Denken und Handeln zu befähigen und ihnen zu ermöglichen, die Auswirkungen des eigenen Handelns auf die Welt zu verstehen.
