Die MTU Aero Engines setzt sich seit Jahren gezielt für die Förderung von Frauen und Geschlechterdiversität ein – unter anderem in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Frauen-Karriere-Index (FKI). Die jährliche Indexierung ermöglicht eine systematische Bewertung der Fortschritte und dient als Grundlage für konkrete Maßnahmen. Zusätzlich unterstützt die MTU die FKI-Initiative „Impact of Diversity“ in der Kategorie „Women in STEM“, um weibliche Talente für technische Berufe zu begeistern und Perspektiven zu ermöglichen.

Darüber hinaus engagiert sich die MTU in Bildungsinitiativen, die sich speziell an den weiblichen Nachwuchs richten. Dazu zählen die Mitgliedschaft im Bündnis MINTvernetzt, die Teilnahme am Girls’ Day sowie die Unterstützung der MTU Studien-Stiftung. Die MTU beteiligt sich unter anderem am Cross-Mentoring-Programm und unterstützt aktiv das interne Frauennetzwerk „Network of Engine Women“. Auch interne Kommunikationskampagnen und der Auftritt auf der Karrieremesse herCAREER tragen dazu bei, Frauen gezielt anzusprechen und für die Luftfahrt zu begeistern.
