In der Informatik - wie in vielen MINT-Bereichen – liegt die Geschlechterverteilung in der Arbeitswelt immer noch weit unter einer Gleichverteilung. In diesem Deep Dive berichten wir, die Professorinnen aus dem Forschungsinkubator „Young Women in STEM“ der IU Internationalen Hochschule, über erste Ergebnisse aus unserer aktuellen Studie BESTWIN – BErufs- und STudienWahlentscheidung Informatik.

Im Juni und Juli 2024 beantworteten mehr als 800 Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene in Deutschland in einer Online-Panelbefragung u.a. Fragen zu ihrem Interesse an einer Ausbildung oder einem Studium im Bereich der Informatik und der Berufsattraktivität. Zudem schilderten sie ihr Image von Informatiker:innen, bewerteten ihre eigenen Kenntnisse und teilten ihre Erfahrungen mit Bezug zur Informatik, sogenannte Critical Incidents, sowie ihre Vorbilder. In dem Deep Dive möchten wir erste Auswertungen zu Faktoren zeigen, die die Berufswahl beeinflussen sowie Unterschiede zwischen den Geschlechtern.
